A fun packed day filled with exciting activities and community in the heart of Springfield.
Main Event: Hero's Rally
A full day of fun in Downtown! The Springfield Century Ride kicks off the morning, followed by the Effingham Heroes Parade along Laurel Street. The Parade ends at Ulmer Park where an afternoon of activity is planned to celebrate our Effingham Heroes – the first responders, veterans, and service men and women of Effingham County.
Ulmer Park will transform for the day with bounce houses, food trucks, and our water gun battlezone to fight off the heat! The event is free to the public and there will be a $5 wrist band to purchase that gets you access to all the inflatables for the day.

A 50K and 100K Bicycle Ride across Effingham hosted the the Springfield DDA that begins and ends at Ulmer Park. Registration Fee is requied, for more information see the link below.

The annual summer parade will reverse its route alongg Laurel Street, begining at the Fair Groungs and ending at the Effingham Courthouse before passing by Ulmer Park to kick off the Hero’s Rally. More info below.

We will kick off the Rally with our Opening Ceremonies features a national anthem and performance by the 3rd Infantry Division Band.

Inflatable Zone

Kick of the summer fun with our Inflatable area! Slides, bounce houses and obstacles for all ages. Play all day with the purchase of a wristband for $5.

Water Gun Battle Zone
Beat the heat in the water gun battle ground! We provide the field and you bring your favorite water gun! Free play with your friends, or sign up for one of our scheduled capture the flag events in the afternoon. Water fill up station provided.

Event Closes
The Rally will close and start clearing away at 4pm – but don’t worry the day isn’t over. Check our the Tucker Strong benefit Car Show next door or hand around Downtown a while longer. There will be plenty of activity left!

Where can I park for the event?
Parking is available at the Effingham Court House, the parking lots at the end of Ulmer Park, and along Laurel Street.
How do I register for the events?
There are a lot of events happening with different host. Please reach out to the correct host for each event.
Will there be food at the events?
The downtown restaurants will be open and extra food trucks will be onsite at Ulmer Park.
